I Got D.I.S. (Drama, Improv & Scene Study)
“I Got DIS!”
These fun-filled classes for children and teens, provides a venue for young actors to express themselves through Drama, Improv & Scene Study/Song (DIS). Acting through drama and improv helps children to learn how to actively listen, communicate verbally and non-verbally, be open to ideas, respond quickly in the moment, use imagination, collaborate, effectively use emotions, be more engaging, be flexible to change, and be more aware of what’s going on around them. Although we will not be learning to sing in this semester program, children will be learning breathing techniques, pitch, tone, and vocal projection that will help them with vocals for stage performances.
Due to social distancing, we will not have an audience and we will be having a video recorded play, Kid Frankenstein, for the kids to work on and have to show their family and friends via link,
Young Actors (ages 7-9) Tuesdays starting October 20th @4:00-5:00PM
Actors I (ages 10-14) Tuesdays starting October 20th @5:00-6:00PM
If registration is small, I may combine the classes and it would run longer, from 4:30PM - 6PM. 4:00PM-4:30PM would be for scheduled cast members to work on scenes of the play.
